and President of JB Music Therapy Inc.

“MUSIC AND MEMORY: a Sound Connection”

An exploration of various models, interventions, perspectives and research in the ever growing field of music therapy. We associate music with past emotions, people, and places ─ our first love or a significant event.  Musical memory is deep and is protected from significant neurological changes. Through the use of stories and demonstrations this presentation will provide participants with a clear understanding of music and its potential to support our own personal wellness, as well as those we are caring for.

Jennifer Buchanan, BMT, MTA is a professional speaker who specializes in using music to foster home and workplace wellness. Presenting to health care groups, educators and caregivers, Jennifer promotes the benefits of using music with intent.

An upbeat presentation ideal for health care workers or volunteer appreciations. Music occupies more of our brain than language. It can help us go to sleep, find inspiration, concentrate and de-stress. For the senior music can quite simply be a lifeline into their past. A medium that brings back positive memories, celebrating a life that contributed greatly to their family and community.

This presentation is an inspirational and reflective presentation that weaves stories and songs together.
